Samsung Galaxy Tab Ranks as One of Amazon’s Best Selling Tablets

April 28, 2012 — It’s no surprise that Amazon’s best selling tablet among the dozens of brands it offers is the $199 Kindle Fire (from Amazon).  That shows the power of its home page to steer consumer purchases.  It’s one of the factors that makes Amazon such a formidable competitor in the tablet marketplace. But the seven-inch Samsung Galaxy Tab ranks right behind it.  If you look at the chart (below), which was compiled today, you’ll see that both tablets are priced under $250 and the lower price is clearly driving consumer behavior in a positive way.  Apple landed three iPads on the top ten chart.  It’s interesting to note that all three are WiFi versions (hence cheaper).   And consumers seem to prefer black over white iPads, and will apparently pay about $5 more for the color of their choice.  Finally, the $92 Coby Kyros made the top ten list.  Just imagine what this market will look like when great tablets under $200 are widespread.
